Magnesium Oxide
The Seals & Bearings business unit manages the manufacture of a range of lower density magnesium oxide materials such as magnesia and our trademarked Luminex(R). Visit the Seals & Bearings website to learn more about these products:
These materials are suitable for various uses due to their electrical and refractory properties. Whilst dense magnesia has limited uses as an engineering ceramic, lower density variants of magnesia such as our Luminex(R) material can be utilised in a range of market sectors and industry specific applications.
Magnesium oxide performs excellently in high temperatures, particularly in the creation of electrical insulation, where our Luminex(R) range excels. Other properties of magnesium oxide include effective corrosion resistance and that it is transparent to infrared light.
Luminex(R) and other magnesia materials have uses in a wide variety of applications. From electrical insulation and heating elements to kiln furniture items and crucibles, our magnesium oxide materials perform excellently in challenging situations.
Working collaboratively with clients we combine the extensive knowledge of our materials engineers with proven development and manufacturing processes. Subsequently we are able to deliver capable, cost effective magnesium oxide materials and components that meet exacting customer specifications.
